Boston's Appt.

Well Boston had a great appt. today at the G.I. specialist. He's gained 7 more oz since last week, so he's a woppin 12 lbs 4 oz now. They said there's no need to do the tests since he's gaining. They'll keep him on medicine to make sure he doesn't damage his esophagus from all the spit up and they said he'll most likely grow out of it between 9-12mos old. He'll have to keep going back there every 6 wks. until he does stop spitting up or catches up on the growth curve. But he's packing on the weight and getting strong so don't be surprised if you see some of this in the near future.

McNuggets

This is my most favorite commercial right now and I wanted to share it with you. This commercial actually made me try a Mcnugget the other day for the 1st time in 20 years and I almost puked but hey they did their job I tried one!

Hurray for Pizza Night!!

So tonight was our first official dinner night swap with the Cranes. Wednesdays our hectic for us and with the guys having scouts we thought we would start taking turns on Wednesdays to cook. I cheated because I went over and stole Lexi and put her and the girls to work so really they cooked dinner. They got to make pizzas all by their selves. They had so much fun, of course I helped by confiscating toppings at certain key moments so nobody had a cheese or olive mountain to choke down. But they did a great job and the pizzas were quite tasty!

WE DID IT!!!

A Week With Grammy!

Well I know I haven't posted in awhile and that's because I've been spending time with my Grandma who flew in from Oregon last Tuesday. We were lucky enough to snag her for a WHOLE WEEK! She was a huge help around the house and always willing to take the dogs out for a walk. She also got to enjoy Family Center at 2 schools and the Music Man. Plus feeding the ducks at Whites Park and a quick trip to the Christmas Tree shop and Tilton Outlets... and let's not forget all the hilarious things that popped out of my kids mouth I think you guys with toddlers know what I'm saying. All in all the kids loved having Grammy around and we hope we'll get another trip out of her someday soon!

I put a pile of bread in front of Boston at the park so he could see the ducks up close. He was talking and cracking up the whole time which is why there are so many pics of him in the slide show!

Boston Update

Boston had his weight check this last Thursday and is now 11lbs. 13oz which is a 13oz gain in a day shy of 2 weeks... which is much better than the 3oz in 2 monthes at his 4mo check up. We will still be going to our G.I. consult this Friday. We'll let you know what pans out.

Apple Picking

We went Apple picking at Carter Hill Farm Friday. The girls love to pick apples they've been waiting for Grammy to get here because I told them that's when we would be picking but they were so excited to find out we were going early with everyone else. It was really sunny so I didn't get the best pics but enjoy anyways.

So funny story we got asked if we were a school group. Nope just a group of friends and believe it or not there's over 10 kids not pictured in this one.

Good News!

We have good news... Boston's ultrasound appointment went great and they said he looks good no concerns. His spitting up has decreased a ton since being on formula so we think he'll be chunked out in no time. We want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers it meant a lot to us. We're so grateful for all our family and friends, and for this great church and the faith we've gained from it. Again thank you to the Coils who watched the kids so we could go to the Boston Temple. We have AWESOME friends!

Quick Update

Boston is chugging his special formula and I swear he's gaining already so I'm not so worried about the weight anymore and he might not even have to get the GI tests. His appts. have all been scheduled so this is what we have going on. Brain Ultrasound will still be this Friday at 8am, he'll have a weight check the 20th and a consult with a N.P. from the G.I. office on the 28th.

Goooooooo DUCKS!

Well despite the upsetting news I've decided if I stay busy and keep my mind off things I do a lot better. At least I've been able to save most of my meltdowns until night after the girls are down. So I was really excited to find out we would be getting the Duck game on TV( a rare moment on the EC). We got all ducked out although I didn't get any pics of the girls in their cheerleading stuff because they slept through the 1st part of the game and then I got to wrapped up in watching the game and eating and grabbing the camera just slipped out of mind. It was great to see the Ducks spank Michigan and hopefully someday we'll actually get to go to a game again!

Thoughts and Prayers

So last Friday Boston had his 4mo check up. It didn't go so great. Most of you already know Boston is the King of spit up... sometime whole feedings. At his last appt. they put him on Zantac in hopes that he would gain some weight. 2 mos later he's only gained 3oz, and I was told I could no longer breastfeed him. I immediately went to tears. I know there are people out there that prefer to formula feed or do both and I don't judge them at all, but to me nursing is everything. I cried both times I weened the girls and it was my decision but to be told I can't nurse Boston and at such a young age I felt like someone was snatching my baby away. But the bad news didn't stop there. I had nursed Boston while we waited for the Dr. and as the Dr. came in with some sample formulas Boston started his usual routine of puking all over the place. When the Dr. saw how much he actually spits up he said he wanted to refer us to a pediatric G.I. Specialist. Oh and it didn't stop there either, as he continued with the regular check up I felt prompted to ask about his soft spot. The Dr. looked at me funny and asked what would make me think something was different I said I didn't know it just didn't seem right. He checked it out and then left to get a second opinion, the 2nd Dr. came in and checked out Boston's little head and the consensus was that he needed to have an ultrasound done on his brain. They didn't get to into it since I was already a wreck, and they didn't want to freak me out even more, but his soft spot is raised which makes them think there is added pressure or fluid. I wasn't sure if I wanted to share what's going on with everyone since it is so up in air and we don't really know what's going on. But it has been a real emotional weekend for me and I can use all the support I can get. So if you could just keep Boston in your thoughts and prayers and I'll update on his situation whenever we can. Todd and I are grateful that our friends the Coils are going to watch the kids for us so that we can go to the Boston temple this Friday. Boston has also been placed on the prayer role at the Medford and Portland Temple in Oregon. Another thanks to those that have helped us out this past weekend with blessings, prayers, and moral support. So just a re-cap it will be a few weeks before we can get him into the GI specialist and his appt. for the ultrasound is this Friday but we may not hear anything until the following week. Thanks again

1st Day of Preschool

Well Yesterday was Kya's 1st Day of Preschool or "Pretty School" as Kya would say. She was so excited and I was excited for the 1st time in a month I could answer when do I go to school with TODAY! Mia was so cute too she went and found her Princess backpack so she could be just like Sissy. She was not however excited when she had to stay in the car while Mommy dropped off Sissy at school. I have to admit I did a lot better than I had imagined. Although I did let a few tears escape when I got back in the car and told Todd how Kya had turned her head when I went to kiss her goodbye. It didn't help that the Dad in front of me was balling his eyes out as his daughter screamed for him to come back and get her. I don't know what's worse a daughter who could care less your leaving her somewhere or one who pleads for you to stay.

Wait so I don't get to go with Sissy?

Hurray For Labor Day!

What a Day!!!! Today we went to Wallis Sands Beach in NH. It was so much fun. Becky and I insisted that we leave at 9:30 on the dot and we had quite the turnout. It was really hot but the water felt great. I didn't get that great of pictures this time, I wanted to get pics of everyone who came but I waited until the end and then a huge wave came and almost took our stuff with it so our focused switched to packing up and getting out of there. Boston was awesome he slept in the pack in play the whole time. Mia was a mess she got up at 4am so she had a good melt down when we got there, another after she got a time out for not sharing and then when she came out of that one she got stung by a bee right in the chest. So not such a great day for Mia but the rest of us had a blast!
