Rules, Rules, Rules

With the new baby coming the Pratt girls got some new rules and schedules this past week. Bedtimes have been changed, nap times have been changed, and more cleaning up has been enforced on both girls and my tolerance has not been so great these last few weeks so they're starting to feel the wrath of a pregnant mom. Along with these came another new rule and probably the least favorite of the girls... hair has to be done everyday before leaving the house. Their hair is getting so curly and if it doesn't get done it becomes a HUGE ratty mess. Mia's hair isn't really long enough to create problems yet but you can already tell her hair is going to be way more curlier than Kya's, and so I thought why not get her in the routine now.
Nothing else has really gone on this week, I through a baby shower for my Friend Michelle on Saturday which was probably more than I should have taken on right now, but it was a success none the less. My contractions have been picking up and I have a ton of pain and pressure in the lower areas so we'll see how much longer this goes on for. It's already slowing me down starting with my blog being a day late and we had to leave church an hour early yesterday. It's been pretty tough around here Todd's been M.I.A. the last two weeks working on an application to get on the law review and just put in 2 all-nighters in a row to finish. And now this week he has to put in the extra time he missed working on his brief. So my prayers for now are the baby comes soon or the pain goes away so I can get more done. I'm nesting like crazy but I don't have the endurance to do want I want at least not without bringing on heavy contractions and I at least want to make it to this weekend when I'm 36 wks.

Updates

Mia- Here's a little overview of what's going on in Mia's life right now. She's been in a big girl bed for over a month now, sleeping on the bottom of Sissy's bunkbed. She's still doing really well goin #2 on the potty, in fact here's a pic of her getting a high five after a monsterous poop. Her favorite thing to do right now is pray. She asks to pray 24/7 folding her arms... it's so cute, although she's inhertated the premature AMEN from her grandpa Chip which makes sacrament a little awkward at times. She also has just figured out how to spin in circles and thinks it's the funnest thing in the world.
Kya- Kya's getting so grown up it's crazy. She's a great big sister and even changed Mia's diaper the other day all by herself. She got a package from Mimi this week and was very excited, the mailman has become her new best friend thanks to Mimi and Juju. Kya loves to dress up and put on dancing shoes, she also made her own necklace and bracelet with beads on them and her name K.Y.A. which she is very proud of. Kya's newest thing is to sing the loudest in sacrament I think Ted would be very proud.

As for Todd and I, Todd's still plugging away at school, he got a break last weekend to play paintball in the snow so that was fun. And it looks like Todd might beat me for the first time in the bracket since we've been together, so he's excited about that. I finally got brave this week and had some pregnancy pictures done by my friend Michelle and they turned out really good, so I'm happy... well not totally happy no one likes to have fat pictures on record but it was about time after sliding by with 2 or 3 with my other pregnancies. I'm 34 wks today and starting to nest like crazy, I have an appointment tomorrow so we'll see how things are going then.

Bad week for MIA

Poor Mia has been so sick all week starting with a cough on Sunday, followed by a fever of 103.3 by Monday... she's still sick although the fever has gone away so we'll take what we can get. Of course Kya started coughing Friday so it looks to be another long week at home for me. Wednesday Mia had her 15mo appointment she finally hit 20lbs actually passing it by 2 oz. and she's in the 50 % for height. She could have cared less about this info since it was followed by 6 shots and 2 blood draw attempts. On the plus side the girls got packages from Juju , Ariel jammies for Kya and a digger for Mia. And for the highlight of the week... dun dun nah nah WE GOT TO SEE THE OREGON GAME LAST NIGHT!! GO DUCKS! It's the only bball game we've got to see this season and the whole family was pumped. As for the pregnancy things are going a little better, it looks like he'll come early so hopefully he won't be too big. I'm 33 weeks today, this one has flown by and good thing because it's been my hardest so far. As for naming the little man nothings set in stone until we see him, so you'll all have to wait for " The PHONE CALL"

New York, New York

Well we finally managed to get out of the house as a family this past week. We celebrated Spring break for Todd by driving to New York with our friends the Cranes. It was a great trip despite the stops along the way to clean vomit out of car seats. On Tuesday we got to our hotel in NJ around 2pm and then took the ferry across to New York... Kya loved the big boat and thought the lady holding the light was really cool. We saw 1st hand the hustle and bustle of NY as we made our way to ground zero, which was all we had time for that 1st day. On day 2 in NY we decided to drive into Manhattan to save time on traveling up the island. We got to drive through time square which was neat, walk around Central Park, visit FAO Schwartz, see all the money spots down 5th Ave and visited Rockefeller Center, we were gonna make a stop at the Disney store but on our way back by all the girls had passed out. I would have to say FAO Schwartz was the big hit, there was a Princess downstairs that read to Kya and Lexi, Mia found a whole section of Diggers which she was pretty excited about (Construction is her newest LOVE), and none of the girls wanted to leave the giant piano. All in all it was a good trip and Todd and I can't wait to go back kidless so we aren't hauling dead wait around for 7 hours. MVP of the trip would have to be my wonderful husband Todd for handling ALL the driving, putting up with my 2 cents, cleaning up all the vomit, and always carrying at least one kid on his back.
